This world cultural heritage site is located about 30 km from Aurangabad, India.
With 34 rock cut caves carved vertically, it is a collection of the Hindu, Buddhist and Jain temples built during 5th century.
These caves are an epitome of the Indian history depicting the culture.
My trip to Ellora was totally unplanned and we just stopped by this heritage site only for a few hours. Due to time constraint, I was not able to see all the 34 caves. With a splendid architecture and a spell binding beauty, I plan to visit Ellora again and see all the 34 caves without any time constraints. These pictures are from the “The Kailasanatha” or cave 16.
The Kailasanatha cave is carved in a top down fashion on a single rock. It also has scenes portraying from the epics of ancient India – Mahabharata, Ramayana.
